Preventive care
Adult care starts with a comprehensive exam that looks beyond the teeth. We evaluate your gums, bite, jaw, and airway, while looking for inflammation, changes in oral health, and early concerns that are often easier to address before they become larger problems. We take the time to show you what we find, explain why it matters, and walk you through your options.
Routine preventive care includes professional cleanings, digital X-rays when appropriate, and an oral cancer screening at every comprehensive exam. We review your X-rays with you chairside so you can see what we see and better understand your oral health. Consistent preventive care gives us the opportunity to identify changes early, protect healthy tooth structure, and reduce the likelihood of more extensive treatment in the future.
FLUORIDE-FREE
What we use instead.
The materials we use are chosen with both your oral health and overall health in mind. We prioritize biocompatible restorative materials, including tooth colored composites, ceramics, and zirconia, and avoid materials we don’t feel align with our whole body approach. Every material is selected for its safety, durability, and compatibility with the body while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible.
Restorative Care
When a tooth needs repair, we believe the material used matters just as much as the restoration itself. We prioritize biocompatible, metal free materials chosen with both your oral health and overall health in mind. Our approach is conservative, preserving as much healthy, natural tooth structure as possible while restoring strength and function. Every material we use is selected to support a healthy, durable restoration that works in harmony with the body.
Bio-compatible fillings
Tooth-Colored Fillings
When a cavity needs to be restored, we use tooth colored composite materials selected for their biocompatibility. We are thoughtful about the materials we place and choose composites that align with our whole body approach while providing a strong, natural-looking restoration. Our goal is to restore the tooth conservatively while using materials we feel confident putting in our own families’ mouths.
IAOMT SMART protocol
Safe Amalgam Removal
If you already have silver amalgam fillings and choose to have them replaced, we follow a specific protocol designed to minimize mercury exposure during removal. We follow the SMART protocol from the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), which stands for Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique. The protocol uses protective barriers, high volume evacuation, isolation, and a separate air source to reduce exposure to mercury vapor and particles during the procedure. Many patients seek us out specifically for SMART amalgam removal and replacement with biocompatible restorative materials.
Ceramic & zirconia
Crowns
A crown protects and strengthens a tooth that has been damaged or weakened. We use tooth colored ceramic and zirconia restorations that are durable, biocompatible, and metal free. Whenever possible, we take a conservative approach, preserving as much healthy, natural tooth structure as we can while creating a strong, long lasting restoration. Our goal is to restore the tooth with materials that look natural, function well, and align with our whole body approach to dental care.

Inlays and Onlays
An inlay or onlay is a custom ceramic restoration used when a tooth needs more support than a filling but doesn’t require a full crown. Because it replaces only the damaged portion of the tooth, it allows us to preserve more healthy, natural tooth structure while providing a strong and durable restoration. Made from biocompatible, metal free ceramic, inlays and onlays are designed to withstand the forces of everyday chewing while closely matching the natural tooth. When appropriate, they offer a conservative middle ground between a composite filling and a full crown.
Metal-free & minimal-prep
Bridges
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by using the neighboring teeth to support a natural looking replacement. We use the same biocompatible ceramic and zirconia materials we use for crowns. When appropriate, we can take a minimal prep approach that preserves more of the healthy tooth structure on the supporting teeth. Bridges are one of several ways to replace a missing tooth, and we consider your oral health, surrounding teeth, and long term goals when determining which option makes the most sense.
The most complete replacement
Dental Implants
An implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up, using a post placed in the jawbone and a natural looking crown above it. We offer guidance for both traditional titanium implants and metal free zirconia implants, allowing us to choose an option based on your individual needs and preferences. Because an implant stands independently, it can restore function without relying on neighboring teeth for support. We incorporate ozone when clinically appropriate as part of our surgical protocol and carefully plan treatment with long term stability and health in mind.

Tooth Extractions
When a tooth cannot be predictably saved, we approach the extraction with careful planning and a focus on healthy healing. We use ozone as part of our surgical protocol to help reduce the microbial load at the site and support a clean healing environment. We also take steps to preserve the surrounding bone whenever possible and discuss your tooth replacement options before the extraction, so you understand what comes next and how it fits into your long term dental health.

Ozone therapy
Ozone is an antimicrobial therapy we incorporate into restorative and surgical care when clinically appropriate. We use it to help reduce bacteria and other microorganisms at the treatment site and support a clean environment for healing. After an extraction, for example, ozone can be applied directly to the site as part of our surgical protocol.
We also use ozone in select deep cavities that extend close to the nerve. Ozone can penetrate into dentinal tubules and help reduce the bacterial load in areas that are impossible to reach mechanically. In certain cases, we incorporate it into a conservative treatment approach aimed at preserving the nerve and natural tooth, including teeth that may otherwise have been considered for more extensive treatment or extraction. While it cannot save every tooth, it can give us another tool when preserving the natural tooth is still a reasonable option.
Orthodontics for adults
Orthodontic treatment isn’t just for kids and teens. Whether you were never treated when you were younger or your teeth and bite have changed over time, we take a comprehensive approach that looks beyond simply straightening the teeth. Whenever possible, we focus on preserving healthy teeth while considering the space, structure, and function of the mouth as a whole.
Our orthodontic approach is airway centered, which means we evaluate how you breathe, how your jaw functions, and how your bite and teeth work together. Depending on your needs, treatment may include clear aligners, braces, or coordinated care for TMD and bite concerns. You can learn more about our approach on our Functional Orthodontics page, where we explain how we evaluate the bite, airway, and jaw before recommending treatment.
Jaw pain, TMD, and integrated care
Jaw pain, clicking, limited movement, and recurring headaches can sometimes be related to the way the bite, jaw joint, muscles, and surrounding cranial structures function together. For these patients, we coordinate care with Dr. Malori Tinsley at Well Balanced Body Chiropractic, located in the same building.
When appropriate, Dr. Tinsley provides cranial work focused on the alignment and mobility of the structures surrounding the jaw, while Dr. Keith evaluates the resulting bite and creates a custom night guard to support it. In cases where timing matters, the appointments are scheduled together so the guard can be calibrated to the bite following the cranial work. This coordinated approach allows us to address the dental and structural components of TMD together rather than treating each in isolation.
Sleep and airway dentistry
The mouth and airway are closely connected, and we consider both when evaluating sleep and breathing concerns. For patients diagnosed with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea, or those struggling with snoring, a custom oral appliance may be an option. These appliances gently position the lower jaw forward during sleep to help maintain an open airway and can provide an alternative for appropriate patients who cannot tolerate or prefer not to use CPAP. In some cases, orthodontic treatment or palate expansion may also be considered as part of a broader approach to airway structure.
Teeth grinding and clenching can gradually wear down teeth, contribute to cracks and fractures, and place additional stress on the jaw and surrounding muscles. A custom night guard protects the teeth while helping us manage the forces placed on the bite during sleep. For patients who also experience jaw pain or TMD, we can coordinate care with Dr. Malori Tinsley so the guard is designed around the bite following cranial work, bringing the dental and structural sides of treatment together.
Cosmetic and smile restoration
Teeth Whitening
Professional whitening can brighten your smile more predictably and effectively than most over-the-counter options. We offer custom take home trays with professional-grade whitening gel, allowing you to whiten gradually and comfortably at home. Before treatment, we evaluate the health of your teeth, sensitivity, and any existing crowns, fillings, or other restorations that will not change color with whitening. This allows us to choose the right approach and help you achieve a natural, even result.
Veneers
Veneers are thin, custom porcelain restorations bonded to the front of the teeth to improve the appearance of chips, discoloration, gaps, worn teeth, or minor alignment concerns. We take a conservative approach, preserving as much healthy, natural tooth structure as possible while creating a smile that looks balanced and natural. When teeth are significantly out of position, we may recommend clear aligners first, and in some cases minor gum contouring, to create a healthier, more even foundation for the veneers. This can allow for more conservative restorations and a result that feels natural and fits the smile as a whole.
Smile Makeover
A full smile restoration brings together the treatments needed to restore the health, function, and appearance of your smile. Depending on your needs, that may include implants, crowns, veneers, orthodontics, or a combination of treatments carefully planned together. Whether you’ve experienced tooth loss, significant wear, or simply gone years without dental care, the goal is to rebuild a smile that looks natural, feels comfortable, and functions well. We start by understanding what you want to change, then build a plan around your health, your goals, and the smile you want to get back.
The dental health savings plan for adults
Dental insurance is designed to minimize cost for the insurance company. That isn’t always aligned with what’s best for the patient. The Dental Health Savings Plan is a straightforward alternative for patients who’d rather manage their own preventive care without the friction of the insurance system. One flat annual rate covers your essential preventive care for the year, with a discount on any further treatment you need. There are no waiting periods and no claim denials.
